Reporting Abandoned Vehicles

You can report an abandoned vehicle on a Hounslow Homes managed estate by contacting the Customer Service Centre on free phone 0800 085 65 75, or by taking the details of the vehicle to your local Housing Office.

To help speed up the removal process, we ask for the following information :

  • The exact location of the vehicle
  • The licence plate number
  • Colour and make of the car
  • whether the vehicle is taxed or not
  • Condition of the car, e.g. is there any damage to the vehicle or fuel leaking?

The details you give us are passed to our contractor who will try and locate the owner of the vehicle and carry out checks with the local police. We will also visit the site to check the vehicles condition and put a sticker on the car stating when we intend to remove it.

If we cannot contact an owner, the vehicle is removed - usually within 7 days of the report being made - and we will take photographs as evidence before taking the vehicle away. If the vehicle is in a dangerous condition, we will aim to remove it as soon as possible.

Vehicles that are not claimed by an owner and are deemed to have a value of less than £500.00 will be scrapped after removel. Vehicles worth in excess of £500.00 are held in storage for 28 days. If unclaimed after 28 days, the vehicle is scrapped.

All other abandoned vehicles(not on a Hounslow Homes managed estate) can be reported to Hounslow Council by calling 020 8583 5555.
