Pay your Rent and Leaseholder Service Charge

You can make a payment to your rent, leasehold service charges, garage rent or recharges for repairs by any of the following methods:

How to make a rent payment online:

Click on the link to make a payment online. The link will take you to the Hounslow Council website, and the online payment system.

First, you will need to select the account type from the drop down list of options. Click on the account type to select.

Click on 'Reference' this is where you need to type in your account number.If you choose rents swipe card, you need to leave out the first 6 digits, which are always 633574. Type in the next 12 digits leaving out the last number. This is in the information if you click on the i next to the reference field.

If you choose rents 14 digits, you need to enter the full 14 digits from your rent card or statement of account. This includes the leading zeros.

Please do not insert dashes or gaps on any payment details as this will cause it to reject.

Enter the amount that you wish to pay, and then your card and personal details.

Secure Server: This facility will take you to a secure site. Our secure-server software encrypts all your personal information including credit or debit card number and name and address. The encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code that are then securely transmitted over the Internet

In the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

Payments made via the online service will usually show on your account 2 working days later. If you are making a payment at the weekend or you have entered an incorrect account number this will cause a delay in registering your payment on your account.

To pay leasehold service charges online:

If you want to pay your Leasehold Service Charges, Ground Rent, Buildings Insurance or Major Works Charges; your Freehold Grounds Maintenance, District Heating or Buildings Insurance on-line;

Please enter the appropriate 14-digit reference number in the ‘Reference’ box. Your reference  numbers are quoted on correspondence from the Home Ownership Unit at Hounslow Homes.

The reference number that you enter must have 14 digits. The fourth digit from the end will always be a 4. Any dashes must be removed and if the quoted reference has less than 14 digits, additional zeros must be inserted at the beginning to make it up to 14 digits. For example, if your reference number is shown as 12345-001-4100, it must be entered as 00123450014100.

Under ‘Type of Bill’ select ‘Service Charges 14 Digits’.

Other payment methods available

Direct Debit or Rent Card: If you wish to pay by this method please ring the Customer Service Centre on free phone 0800 085 65 75 and a form/rent payment card will be sent to you. Direct Debit payments are taken from the account specified by you on the 1st of the month, or the next working day. The payment will register on your account the next (working) day. Payments are not collected/accounts are not updated on a weekend.

Cash or Cheque: You can make a cash or cheque payment at the following locations,

  • At the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow. The cashiers office is open Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.00pm
  • At any Bank (If it is not your own branch, the bank may charge for this service).
  • At any Post Office (By cash or cheque, you may be charged on some accounts for this service). Griobank payments can take up to 4 working days to register on your account.

Payments made by cheque or cash are processed and register on your account the next working day.

By Post: Make cheques payable to London Borough of Hounslow. Send payments to Cash Office, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. (If a receipt is required you must send the whole instalment slip and a stamped addressed envelope). Cheques are processed on the date they are received at the cash office and will register on your account the next working day. Weekends will affect payments being processed/registered on your account.

Standing Order: If you wish to pay your rent by standing order, please tell us first. Contact the Customer Service Centre on free phone 0800 085 65 75.  The Customer Service Centre will arrange for a standing order form to be sent to you. If you choose this option you must make your own arrangements with your Bank or Building Society, which must be in accordance with the payment amounts and dates shown on your bill, ensuring they quote your account reference.

Telephone: You will be able to make payments using our Automated Telephone Payments System: Call 0208 583 5959. Please note there is a £5000 limit if you pay by Credit card. Debit card payments are unlimited. Both methods are restricted to the available funds in your account. Payments will register on your account 2 working days later. Weekends will cause a delay in payments being registered.
