Your Tenancy Agreement

When you become a Hounslow Homes tenant, you are asked to sign a Tenancy Agreement

This is the agreement between a tenant, Hounslow Council and Hounslow Homes. The tenancy agreement you sign was prepared following consultation with tenants, the Hounslow Federation of Tenants and Residents associations (HFTRA) your councillors and council officers.

The council(the London Borough of Hounslow) owns your home and you are a council tenant. Hounslow Homes will manage your home and enforce the tenancy agreement on behalf of the council.

A Tenancy Agreement is a legal document required for every property outlining responsibilities for all parties.

The agreement will tell you:

  • What the tenancy agreement means
  • The tenancy agreement and details of the tenancy
  • Your rent and other charges,
  • Your responsibilities as a tenant
  • Hounslow Homes responsibilities
  • Changing the terms of your tenancy
  • How to end your tenancy.
  • Other conditions

You should read your tenancy agreement carefully. You will also be given a Tenants Handbook which gives helpful details on a wide range of topics relating to your tenancy.

If you would like more information on any of these matters, please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 65 75  or visit your local housing office.
