Digital TV Services

As a result of the UK's television services becoming digital by 2012, a new integrated reception system will be installed on all Hounslow Homes' shared buildings.

The installation of the new digital television system will allow shared buildings to receive better quality pictures and access new channels. No special equipment is required although residents will need to buy a standard set-top box to receive either satellite or terrestrial television.

The cost of installing the integrated system for 8,400 homes will be between £1.8m and £2.3m. It is proposed residents will pay a small charge for the installation and maintenance of digital television. The delivery of the programme will be starting soon, but will be spread over the next three years. All residents will be written to before any work commences on their block.

Further information can be found in the 2007/2008 Approved Capital Works Programme or contact the Hounslow Homes' Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 65 75.
