Board Member Elections

Could YOU be a Hounslow Homes Board Member?

At the beginning of the New Year, 2008, we will be holding another election to find two tenants to take up board member posts. The vacant posts are for the East area and a floating role (covering all areas)

Each member of the board has something different to offer. For tenant members it is their experience of living in council-owned housing that is important. Their contribution helps the board make decisions about residents’ needs.

So, ask yourself, could YOU be a board member? There is no specific experience required and any training is provided free. You will be supported by Hounslow Homes’ staff and by your board member colleagues.

If you think you can explain the things that are important to ordinary residents then this may be the job for you!

How to apply

What skills will I need?

You must be able to work as part of a team with fellow Board members to give strategic leadership to Hounslow Homes and its employees. You must be able to devote sufficient time to attend evening meetings once or twice a month - including reading the papers for those meetings in advance.

Training will be given to assist you in undertaking these unpaid duties.

Can anyone apply?

Yes, all tenants living in the Borough may apply.

If you are interested please let us know by Friday 4 January 2008.

You can ring or write to: Jacqueline Mutibwa, Company Administration Manager, Hounslow Homes Ltd, St Catherine’s House, 2 Hanworth Road, Feltham, Middlesex TW13 5AB. Tel:020 8583 3974.

E-mail: Jacqueline.mutibwa@hounslowhomes.org.uk

What happens next?

We will hold an open event for all those interested in mid January.

This will be followed by formal elections for the vacancy. The successful candidates will take up office in March.
