New youth activities for Isleworth residents

The Bridgelink Centre on the Ivybridge estate has launched a number of exciting new activities for residents aged between 12 and 18. From music and dance sessions to a new youth club the Centre  now  offers a wide range of fun events. World Aids Day

Lets get talking

The 1st of December marks World Aids Day 2007 and HIV, lets get talking aims to break the silence and increase awareness of HIV and AIDS.

More than 70,000 people are living with AIDS in the UK, with one in three unaware that they have the disease. Buying a red ribbon will donate some much-needed money to research and treatments and also help to decrease the stigma surrounding HIV.

FAST FACTS

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus  that can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms and infections resulting from specific damage to the immune system  caused by HIV. The late stage of the condition leaves individuals susceptible to opportunistic infections and tumours.
