Becoming a tenant or leaseholder board member

Hounslow Homes' Board of Directors has four tenant and one leaseholder representatives. Every board member serves a maximum of three years in office. The job of being a company tenant or leaseholder board member is about getting involved and having a say in the decisions that shape your housing environment and community.

For tenant and leaseholder members it is their experience of living in council-owned housing that is important. With their contribution to the board, Hounslow Homes is able to make decisions that meet the needs of residents.

Alf Chandler is Chair of Hounslow Homes Board.  To read more about his work and why he decided to get involved, click here.

So, ask yourself, could YOU be a board member?

This is definitely a job where there is “no experience necessary”. What little training that you might need is provided free and you will be supported by Hounslow Homes’ staff and by your board member colleagues throughout.  If you can talk to others and are good at explaining the things that are important to ordinary residents then this may be the job for you!

During June we will be holding an election to fill three board member posts: one for the central area, one for the east area and one leaseholder role. On the 15th June we will be holding an open event for anyone interested in becoming a Board Member. You can also visit the Latest News page for more information
