Applying for a transfer from one property to another

As a Hounslow Homes' tenant, you can apply to move from your current property to another by completing an application form to become a member of Locata, the choice based letting scheme. The Locata scheme is used by both homeseekers (those who have applied and are eligible for council housing) and existing tenants from Hounslow Homes and several other boroughs and housing associations that have applied for a transfer.

You will be given a priority 'banding' according to your housing need, and once you have received your welcome pack and registration number you can begin bidding for available properties.

Applicants are advised to bid regularly for properties, and to bid realistically, for example, If your housing need is for a three bedroom property, bid for three bedroom flats as well as houses, as there are more of these types of property available.

You may also wish to consider Mutual Exchange as a means of moving home. Tenants can register with Homeswapper or advertise locally for an exchange partner. See Homeswapper for more information.
