Pay your rent this winter

Keep those payments coming in during the festive season.

We would like to remind all tenants of the importance of paying their rent, particularly during the festive season. We realise that the Christmas and New Year period may mean increased costs and stretched budgets for your family.

Did you know there are 8 different ways to pay your rent, garage rent, rechargeable repairs or former tenant arrears?

1. Online Payment facility

Go to www.hounslow.gov.uk click on ‘pay online’ and then make a payment on line. This will take you to a secure server. You can pay with any of the following types of credit/debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and Visa Delta. You cannot use the following cards: American Express, Diners Club and Electron. Note: there is a 1.4% handling fee for payments made by credit card. If you have any internet payment problems or questions, please call

2. By 24 hour automated telephone using credit/debit card

You can pay by phoning the 24 hour automated telephone payments system on 0845 301 0210 and follow the automated instructions.

3. Direct Debit through your bank/building society

The easiest way to pay your rent is by Direct Debit directly from your bank or building society account. If any adjustments to your rent charge are required we will inform you at least 10 days before the payment is taken from your account. Payment of rent by direct debit must be monthly in advance. A one off payment of £35.00 will be credited to your rent account if you continue to pay by this method for at least 12 months. For a direct debit mandate, please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 6575 and ask to speak to the Rents Team.

4. Internet Banking

You can make payment via your bank. You will need to quote both the bank details of Hounslow council, which are:

and the reference, which is your 14 digit rent account number.

5. Payment card at any Post Office

Just take your rent card and payment to the Post Office. You can pay either by cash or cheque made payable to Post Office Ltd.

6. Standing order through your bank/building society

This can be weekly or fortnightly or monthly. For a standing order mandate, please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 6575 or pick up a mandate from your bank. You will need to quote the bank details of Hounslow Council which are:

You must take the mandate to your bank: do NOT return it to Hounslow Homes. Each time there are changes to your rent payment we will send you a new mandate which you must complete and take to your bank. If you continue to pay by this method for 12 months, we will credit your account with £25.

7. By Cash or Cheque

You can pay by cash or cheque using the Handy till at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. Alternatively, you could send or take a cheque to any Hounslow Homes local Housing offices at Brentford, Chiswick, Feltham and Isleworth. All cheques should be made payable to London Borough of Hounslow.

8. Rent card at any shop displaying the PAYPOINT sign

Take your rent card and payment to any shop with the PAYPOINT sign. There is no charge for using this facility
