Gardening Competition 2012

Hounslow Homes’ residents have a chance to share in £800 worth of prizes in our annual gardening competition! Now in its tenth year, more and more residents are participating and helping to improve the appearance of their local neighbourhoods.

Two time winner in the Best Garden category and a first time judge in this year’s competition Rita Everett said 'I enjoy working on my garden immensely and this year as a judge I will be looking for entrants who grow their own flowers and plants and not just buy them in. I also like to consider the layout and arrangement of gardens.'

Send in photos of your budding blooms to enter into one of our four categories:

• Best Garden - 1st Prize £150, 2nd Prize £50 sponsored by Complete Tree Care
• Best Communal Area - 1st Prize £150, 2nd Prize £50 sponsored by Sodexo
• Best Sheltered Housing Garden - 1st £150, 2nd Prize £50 sponsored by HFTRA
• Best Balcony or Hanging Basket - 1st £150, 2nd Prize £50 sponsored by Pinnacle

Dave Cox, Chairman of HFTRA said 'HFTRA are delighted to support the Hounslow Homes annual gardening competition and we are sponsoring the Best Sheltered Housing category again this year. Sheltered Housing gives us a good show every year and always has a very well deserved winner.'

This could be your year so get your gardening gloves on! Entrants must be a Hounslow Homes resident to apply. Download an entry form or fill out the entry form in the residents’ newsletter, Hounslow Homes News, by Friday 13 July. Judging takes place in July with the winner announced at an awards ceremony in October.
