Cooper House, Hounslow

Gardens and conservatory at Cooper HouseCooper House was built in 1979 and is located in a desirable part of Hounslow. It is within easy reach of doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries and the local walk-in clinic, Hounslow West tube station and bus stops. It is also within close proximity of the local supermarket and a variety of shops, stores and eating-places and is only a short bus ride to Hounslow’s main shopping centre.

The building is on three levels, ground, first and second floors and comprises 35 one-bedroom, independent self-contained flats and one bed-sit.

Like other sheltered schemes, Cooper House has the security of a controlled access door entry system providing residents with a sense of safety. A lift provides easy access to the upper floors, especially for those with mobility problems, who are unable to use the stairs.

All flats are fitted with an emergency alarm system that connects to the Scheme Manager. When the Scheme Manager is off site or off duty the alarm system automatically connects to the Control Centre Linkline, ensuring immediate assistance. The same applies to the fire alarm system and smoke detectors facilitating immediate attention and help. The alarm system is also fitted to the lift, communal toilets, showers and laundry room.

Heating is provided by a district heating system, which supplies heating and hot water to all flats and communal facilities continuously.

The Flats

The flats comprise of a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Recent improvements and renovation provided a walk-in shower for bathrooms in each flat. The renovations also provided newly fitted kitchens. The entrance hall to the flats provides access to all rooms and there is ample storage facility.

Every room is fitted with a pull cord alarm. Each flat also has a smoke detector.

An intercom in each flat facilitates communication with callers at the main entrance door to the building, enabling the resident to allow or disallow entry.
