About the Companies Act

The Companies Act 2006 received Royal Assent on 8th November 2006. The Act will effectively replace existing companies legislation.

The New Companies Act 2006 requires that all companies must show (in legible lettering) its name, registered office address, place of registration and registered number on the following; company websites, all business letters, invoices, order forms etc whether in hard copy, electronic or any other form

Whenever an email is used where its paper equivalent would be caught by the stationery requirements then that email is also subject to the requirements. This took effect from 1st January 2007. Everyone is responsible to ensure that documents are compliant with the Act.
