CCTV and door entry systems

For safety and security close circuit television (CCTV) and door entry systems are fitted to blocks and communal areas. Door entry systems usually consist of a buzzer and fob entry system on the main entrance to the block and a handset (sometimes with a video screen) inside each property.

These systems are maintained by specialist contractors employed to carry out repairs and servicing on our behalf.

The Concierge service will monitor activity in the communal areas using CCTV and it is often used as evidence when we are dealing with tenants and their visitors that are carrying out anti-social behaviour or nuisance.

Your safety and security

Door entry systems are fitted for your safety and security. You should not wedge open main entrance doors or block the magnets to prevent the door from closing or being secure. Doing this allows unauthorised persons to enter the building and commit anti-social behaviour or other illegal activities.

Reporting a problem

If there is a problem with the door entry system to either the block or inside your home, report the problem to the Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 65 75. The contractor responsible for repairing the system will be informed and where possible a visit is made the same day.

Replacement Fob keys

All tenants are issued with a fob key to their block when they sign up for the tenancy of a property (where a door entry system is in use). If your key is faulty or stops working, contact the Customer Service Centre on 0800 085 65 75 or your local housing office and we will arrange for a new fob key for you.
